There are only three places a contractor loses a bigger project before price even matters: you were never invited, you were invited but not shortlisted, or the owner never found you at all. Each of our four services targets one of those gaps. Choose by the gap, not by the channel.
-
Bid credibility and prequalification packages
Capability statements, project sheets and a prequal-ready web section that make an estimator comfortable putting you on the list.
-
Project portfolio websites
A contractor website built around finished projects, scope and process, so a builder can judge your fit in five minutes.
-
Builder and GC relationship marketing
A planned, consent-respecting program for subcontractors to get known by the builders and general contractors they want to work for.
-
Search visibility for larger projects
Get found by developers, property managers, design firms and serious owners searching for a contractor for bigger scopes.
Bid credibility and prequalification packages
Choose this first if builders or owners have asked for your information and then gone quiet. That silence usually means your paperwork did not answer their risk questions quickly enough.
The bid credibility service produces a capability statement, a set of one-page project sheets and a prequalification page on your website. Together they answer what an estimator worries about: can this company handle the scope, staff it, keep the site safe and finish on time? It is the quickest service to show value because you can use the material in your very next submission.
Project portfolio websites
Choose this if your website undersells you. Many contractor sites were built for homeowner leads years ago and now show the wrong work, or no work at all, to the builders and developers you want.
A project portfolio website is organised around finished jobs. Each project page states the scope, the building type, the schedule, the constraint you managed and the outcome. That structure lets a reviewer judge fit in minutes and gives search engines something specific to index.
Builder and GC relationship marketing
Choose this if you are a subcontractor and most of your growth will come from a handful of builders. The goal is to become a known, low-risk name to the estimators and project managers who build bid lists.
The builder relationship program sets a target list, a contact plan that respects Canada's anti-spam rules, and a follow-up rhythm tied to real reasons to get in touch: a completed project, a new capability, a crew expansion. It is slower than ads, and it is usually the highest-value marketing a subtrade can do.
Search visibility for larger projects
Choose this if you are a general contractor, design-build firm or specialty contractor whose buyers search online before they call anyone: facility managers, developers, design firms and owners planning a significant build.
The larger-project search service targets the searches those buyers make, such as tenant improvements, commercial renovations or multi-unit work in your area. It combines project pages, local search and, where the numbers support it, a small paid search budget.
How to choose in one minute
Answer three questions honestly:
- In the last year, how many builders or owners asked for your information and never followed up? If it is more than two, start with bid credibility.
- Does your website show the kind of project you want next? If not, add a project portfolio.
- Do more than half of your best jobs come from a few builders? If yes, relationship marketing pays most. If not, search visibility does.
If two answers point in different directions, tell us on the first call. Mixed answers are common, and they usually mean you should fix the cheapest gap first and let the results pay for the next one. Prices for each combination are on the pricing page, and the guides explain the thinking behind each service in more depth.
What we never do
We do not build, install, repair or service anything; Trades.Contractors is not a contractor. We also don't price your work, prepare tenders, review contracts or advise on procurement law or licensing. Where licensing matters, our region pages link the provincial bodies you should ask directly. If your work also needs homeowner-facing campaigns at scale, our sister site Marketing.Construction covers builder and developer marketing to the public.
Frequently asked questions
Do we need all four services?
Rarely at the start. Most contractors begin with one or two, chosen by where they lose work today. A subtrade that never gets invited needs relationship work and a prequal package before it needs search.
Do you write our bids or tender responses?
No. We don't prepare bids, price work or interpret tender documents, and we give no procurement or legal advice. We produce the marketing material that sits around a bid: capability statements, project sheets and the web pages an estimator checks.
Can you work with our existing website?
Often, yes. If the site is fast, secure and you own it, we can add project pages and a prequalification section. If it can't be edited or you don't control the domain, we'll tell you and explain the options.
How soon will we see a difference?
A capability statement and project sheets can be ready in a few weeks and used in the next bid. Relationship and search work compound over months, so we report early activity measures first and award-level results later.
