Trades.Contractors exists for one kind of client: the contractor who can deliver bigger work than they are currently trusted with. We are a marketing and business consulting service for general contractors and subcontractors across Canada. We are not a contractor ourselves, and we never build, install, repair or service anything. Our job is to make sure the people who award projects see your company accurately.
The company and the group
Trades.Contractors is one of the specialist brands of Trades.Agency, the trades marketing arm of Sedighi.ca. Sedighi.ca is the consulting company through which Ali Sedighi runs growth, marketing and technology work, and its family of brands takes in HVAC.Agency, HVAC.Digital, Trades.Agency, BusinessConsulting.ca and Conv.ca.
The wider family is the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group of companies. The other half of the group, SAZ.ca (Strategy & Acceleration Zone), is a Canadian firm that consults on strategy, AI and revenue acceleration; Ali founded it and serves as its Founder & Managing Partner. We are a Canadian business with our head office in Vancouver, BC, and we take on contractor clients from coast to coast to coast; the areas page explains how we handle each region.
Ali Sedighi, MBA
Ali Sedighi leads Trades.Contractors and is the person accountable for every plan we put in front of a client.
- Education: MBA in Technology Management.
- Experience: 17+ years, beginning in 2007 with ONE.ir, the full-service digital marketing agency he founded that year.
- Websites: 150+ live HVAC websites built, including CombiBoiler.ca, GasBoilers.ca, RomaHeating.ca, CanroHeat.ca, HeatLand.ca and BoilerPart.ca.
- Companies founded: Conv.ca, a conversion-rate optimisation agency, and MyAutomation.ca; Founder & Managing Partner of SAZ.ca.
- Markets: clients in Canada, the USA and Dubai. He lives and works in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Ali's background is in building websites and lead systems that measure what they produce. For contractors, that matters because most marketing in construction is never measured at all.
How we work with contractors
We work the way a good estimator works: start from facts, price the risk, and put everything in writing.
- Look at your real project history first. Before recommending anything we review the last ten or twenty jobs: who awarded them, how you got on the list, and which ones made money.
- Name the gap. Usually it is one of three: you aren't invited, you aren't shortlisted, or the right buyers can't find you. The services page matches a service to each gap.
- Write the plan and the price. You get a short written scope with what we will produce, how long it takes, how we will measure it, and the monthly cost from our pricing page.
- Report monthly in plain numbers. Invitations, enquiries, meetings and, where you share them, awards. If something isn't working, we say so and change it.
What we will not do
Being clear about limits is part of being trustworthy to contractors.
- We do not do construction work of any kind, and we never pretend to.
- We do not prepare bids, price your work, review tenders or contracts, or give procurement, legal, bonding or licensing advice.
- We do not invent case studies, reviews or client names. Our proof is published and checkable, and it comes from our HVAC work; you can read it on the results page.
- We do not promise wins, rankings or a set number of leads.
Why "not a contractor" matters to you
An agency that also sells construction services would be competing with its own clients. We don't. We also don't take sides between a builder and its subtrades: if we work with a subcontractor, our only job is to help that subcontractor win more work from builders that suit it. Everything we learn about your market, your builders and your pricing stays with you, and our only interest is that your company wins more of the work it is capable of. If you want to see how that plays out in practice, the FAQ covers the questions contractors ask us most, and the contact page explains how to start.
Frequently asked questions
Who will we actually work with?
Ali Sedighi sets and reviews your strategy and is accountable for the plan and the monthly results report. You will always know who to call when a question comes up.
Have you worked with general contractors before?
Our measured, published results are from HVAC companies, and we say that plainly. The methods for building credibility, project pages and steady lead flow transfer to contractors; the case numbers themselves are HVAC numbers.
Do you give licensing or contract advice?
No. We are marketers and business consultants. For licensing, we point you to the provincial body on each region page; for contracts, tenders and bonding, speak with your lawyer, surety or broker.
Where are you based?
Our head office is in Vancouver, British Columbia. We work with contractors in every province and territory, meeting by video call or in person, and by phone, text and email.
