How it works

  1. Show us your last ten jobs

Which ones made money, which builder or owner awarded them, and how you got on the list. That pattern tells us where your next bigger project is most likely to come from.

  2. Get a credibility plan in writing

We map the gap between the work you can do and the work you look ready to do, then price the fix: prequal package, project pages, builder outreach or search.

  3. Talk it through with a person

No forms and no pitch deck. Call, text or email; you'll talk to a senior strategist.

Most contractors who stall at a certain project size are not short on skill. They are short on visible proof. An estimator at a mid-size builder has twenty minutes to decide whether a new name goes on the bid list, and in that time they judge your website, your project history, your safety story and how quickly you answer. Trades.Contractors works on exactly that twenty minutes. We are a marketing and consulting service for general contractors and subcontractors, and we are not a contractor: we never build, install or repair anything.

Why good contractors get stuck at one job size

The ceiling is usually a perception gap, not a capacity gap. If your online presence looks like a one-truck operation, a builder will treat you like one, even if you have run crews of twelve.

Common signs you are being sized down:

  • you get invited to price small packages but never the full scope
  • builders ask for "a few references" and then go quiet
  • your website shows finished kitchens when you want commercial fit-outs
  • homeowners find you, but developers and property managers never do

Each of these has a marketing fix. The services page explains which fix suits which symptom.

What we do for general contractors

General contractors need to be trusted by owners, developers, property managers and design firms before a bid is even requested. That trust is built with documented projects and a clear account of how you run a job.

We build project portfolio websites that read like a short prequalification file: scope, budget band, schedule, the problem you solved and what the owner received at handover. Then we make those pages findable through search visibility for larger projects, so a facility manager searching for a tenant-improvement contractor in your city lands on proof rather than a gallery of stock photos.

What we do for subcontractors

Subtrades win most of their larger work through builder relationships, so the job is to become a familiar, low-risk name to the right estimators and project managers.

Our builder and GC relationship program starts with a target list of builders whose project types match your crew, then plans a steady, respectful sequence of contact and follow-up. We pair it with a bid credibility package: a capability statement, project sheets and a page that answers the prequalification questions builders ask before they ever call you.

A worked example: what one more builder is worth

A single repeat builder relationship can be worth more than a year of homeowner leads. Here is a simple way to check that with your own numbers.

Say your average builder package is $85,000 and your gross margin on it is 18%. That is $15,300 of gross profit per package. If one new builder awards you three packages a year, that relationship is worth about $45,900 in gross profit annually. Compare that with the monthly cost of marketing over the same year and you know quickly whether the effort pays. Our bid hit-rate guide walks through the full calculation, including the cost of the bids you lose.

Proof from our HVAC work

Our track record comes from HVAC companies, and we say so plainly. These are results from our HVAC work, shown because the method transfers, not because the trades are the same.

  • GasBoilers.ca is a gas-boiler division we built for CANRO Heat, now serving 26+ BC communities. Launching a new line of work under its own credible banner is the same problem a contractor faces when moving into a new project type.
  • CanroHeat.ca achieved 250% lead growth.
  • HVACDeal.ca generated 500+ leads at a 12:1 ROI.

Who is behind Trades.Contractors

Trades.Contractors belongs to the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group of companies, a Canadian group run from Vancouver, British Columbia. Ali Sedighi, MBA in Technology Management, leads the work; his 17+ years in digital marketing include building 150+ live HVAC websites, which is where most of our measured contractor-side results come from. The parent brand is Trades.Agency, and more about Ali and how we work is on the about page.

We work with contractors in every province and territory. The areas we serve page explains how licensing bodies, seasons and buyer habits differ across the country.

Where to start

Start with one conversation about the project size you want to reach and what is stopping you. Bring a rough list of the builders or owners you would most like to work for, even if you have never priced a job for them. Prices are on the pricing page, common questions are answered in the FAQ, and the contact page explains what to send us so the first call is useful.

Frequently asked questions

What is Trades.Contractors?

Trades.Contractors is a Canadian digital marketing and business consulting service for general contractors and subcontractors. Ali Sedighi, MBA, leads it from our Vancouver, BC head office, and it belongs to the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group.

Are you a contractor or a bid service?

Neither. We are not a contractor and we never build, install, repair or service anything. We also don't prepare bids, review tenders or give procurement or legal advice. We market your company so the people who award work take your bids seriously.

We're a subtrade. Is this for us or only for GCs?

Both. Subcontractors usually need builder relationship work and a sharp prequalification package first. General contractors usually need project pages and search visibility with owners, developers and design firms.

How much does it cost?

Trades.Agency family plans start at $1,999 per month month-to-month, or $1,499 per month on annual billing, plus GST/HST based on your province (GST and QST in Quebec). There is no long-term contract; you can cancel with 30 days' notice.

Can you promise we'll win more bids?

No. Nobody honest can, because price, timing and the estimator's judgement are outside any marketer's control. What we can do is make sure you are invited more often and that your company never loses on credibility.

Do you work everywhere in Canada?

Yes, in all 10 provinces and 3 territories. Our region pages point to the provincial bodies that license builders and trades, so you know who to ask about your own obligations.
